ANDALUCÍA AND SOUTH COAST TOUR

8 days from 725 Euros

Starting from Calpe, just east of Alicante, this 8 day tour takes you from Calpe to Sevilla, along some of the most spectacular roads in southern Spain, stopping at various scenic, historical, and entertaining locations.

We take-in the “Mini Holywood” at Almeria, visit the gorge at El Chorro, pop across the Spanish border into Gibraltar, and visit the GP circuit at Jerez.

A truly fun-filled holiday for the sun-loving biker!

Day 1: Arrival in Calpe and Familiarisation Ride.
You will fly into Alicante or Murcia airport.  If you want us to recommend, or even book flights for you we can do that. We will transfer you to your hotel in Calpe where we have a choice of 3,4 and 5 star accommodation. All with easy walk to the town and the beach.  All with pool. If there is time on your arrival day you can take  a short familiarisation ride to get you comfortable with the roads and the motorcycle.  Travel up the N332 to Gata de Gorgos and then take the even more scenic inland route home.  About 80km of windy heaven

Day 2: Calpe to Cartagena
After a breakfast in the hotel you will head for Cartagena.  You will pass through Alicante and the region of Murcia on the way. Cartagena is the main military haven of Spain, and is home to a large naval shipyard as well as some quaint architecture and traffic free areas.

Day 3: Cartagena to Almeria (130 miles)
From Cartagena we travel to Almeria via the Mini Hollywood complex, scene of western movie sets in a visit to the Wild Wild West.

It’s unique, beautiful and enigmatic landscapes provided the backdrops for historic legendary films such as ’A Fistful of Dollars’, ’For a Few Dollars More’, ’The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’, ’Indiana Jones and the last Crusade’…

Day 4: Almeria to Villanueva del Trabuco via. Granada(150 miles)
From Almeria take the scenic A348 and the E332 until we get to Granada at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The capital of the province of Granada, the city has many examples of fine architecture and is steeped in history.  From there we head to our rest stop at Villanueva del Trabuco and the rustic charm of La Nava.

Day 5: Granada to Ronda
Travel first to Antequera along the sweeping A92.  A lovely fast road with delightful curves and not much traffic, even in the height of summer.  Divert to El Chorro and the gorge.  Maybe have a bite to eat or a coffee in the water side restaurants or see the site of the filming of Von Ryan’s express.  Travel on to Ronda via a little excursion up an exciting biking road at Cuevas del Becerro – the A414

Day 6: Ronda to Cadiz
Take the winding A397 to the coast and then on the old A7 down to Gibraltar.  Leave the bike in the car park and walk through the border.  It will take less time and be a lot less stress on you and the bike.  If you fancy an overnight in Gibraltar don’t forget to take your bags with you.  Otherwise take the scenic A340 up to Cadiz and stay in the old quarters of Puerto de Santa Maria.

Day 7: Cadiz to Sevilla
Take a trip to the Jerez motor circuit to check out the Moto GP venue.  Take your time to Sevilla and enjoy the delights of the city.

Day 8: Return and Depart Spain
From Sevilla you can decide to leave the bike and return home from the local airport. Or if you have more time why not look through our inland route back to Alicante.
